How to order manakish in Milton
There are two ways to order. Call the bakery at (905) 878-4567 and pick it up at the counter, or order for delivery on Uber Eats. Those are the only two ordering channels — we do not take orders by email or social media.
For anything larger than about a dozen pieces, call a day ahead so we can bake it fresh for your pickup time. Platters for birthdays, office breakfasts, school events, Ramadan iftars and Eid gatherings are all things we do regularly.
The bakery runs Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and is closed Mondays. We are at Unit 4–5, 700 Nipissing Rd in Milton, with parking at the door — a short drive from Bronte Meadows, Dorset Park, Timberlea, Hawthorne Village and the Milton GO station.
Frequently asked questions
What is manakish?
Manakish — also spelled manakeesh, manaqish, or manoushe in Lebanon — is a Levantine flatbread topped before baking with zaatar and olive oil, cheese, spiced minced meat, or other toppings. It is the traditional breakfast of Lebanon, Syria, Palestine and Jordan, sold from neighbourhood ovens and eaten at any hour.
Is your manakish halal?
Yes. All meat at Tomatoes Bazar is 100% certified halal, including the beef, chicken and pepperoni used on our manakish.
Do you have vegetarian or vegan manakish?
Zaatar, spinach and muhammara manakish contain no meat, and the zaatar and spinach are vegan as made. Cheese and nutella manakish are vegetarian.
How much is manakish at Tomatoes Bazar?
Zaatar and muhammara are $3.99 on the Tuesday special. Meat, chicken, cheese, spinach and nutella specials are $4.99. Full menu pricing is on the bakery menu board in store and on our Uber Eats page.
Is the bakery open on Mondays?
No — TB Bakery is closed Mondays. The grocery store itself stays open 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM seven days a week, so you can still shop; only the bakery counter is closed.
Can I get manakish delivered in Milton?
Yes, through Uber Eats. For large platter orders, call (905) 878-4567 and pick up at the counter.
What is the difference between manakish and pizza?
The dough is thinner and softer, the bake is shorter and hotter, and the traditional topping is zaatar and olive oil rather than tomato sauce and mozzarella. Manakish is usually rolled or folded and eaten by hand rather than sliced.
How do I reheat manakish?
Three or four minutes in a 180°C (350°F) oven, or a minute per side in a dry pan on medium heat. Skip the microwave — it makes the dough tough.
Can I buy the ingredients to make manakish at home?
Yes — our grocery aisles carry zaatar blends, sumac, olive oil, akkawi cheese and everything else you need. Our guide to what manakish is and how it is made walks through the whole process.
